Shoelace

She looks at me like she always did when we were about to leave the house

I let out a sigh and bend down

One bunny, two bunny and off we go

Now I tie my own shoes.

 Alone.

Dawn

We were supposed to meet at the Bay Bridge, but he never showed up. Hours and hours passed, I waited for him in the warm summer air, alone in the dark the dim glow of my lantern the only thing warming my heart. In the east, the rising sun glowed the most beautiful pink I have ever seen just over the hill. A row of tall trees blocked the horizon, but a hue filtered through. That is when I gave up. He was never coming .I let out a sigh and I started my long walk home. The narrow mossy path was barely wide enough for two.    As I arrived home, I saw the mail boy coming to deliver the daily newspaper. The boy was sweating in the dry summer heat “You just wait here, dear. I’ll be out with a glass of water for you.” “Thank you Ma'am that’s very kind”. He sounded quite pleased that I had offered him a glass of water. He wiped the sweat from his forehead. I poured two glasses, one for the boy and one for me. SOLITUDE

In the state of being alone do you feel lonely? Personally, I don't think you feel lonely but more empty. It's almost like no one is there to help you but everyone is there for you. Being in solitude is sometimes a great thing having your alone time and just being alone with your own thoughts. There are many different benefits to being alone and to some people, it can be very relaxing how most people choose to spend their time. Or there are other people who hate being alone and need to have people around. When someone says they are lonely I think it is all a state of mind because you can find peace if you find something you love to do. If you feel lonely you need to find a hobby. finding a hobby you can keep yourself entertained and find peace in being alone.

High Hopes

High Hopes reflection-   In the song High Hopes sung by Pink Floyd, one of the first things I noticed was the bell. The bell continues through the whole song which I think relates to how every day passes by the same, expectations are the same day after day...until something different happens. Something outside of your daily routine .  One of the lines says, "Running before time took our dreams away" Since I think that the bell that continues for the whole song represents time this means that you have to chase your dreams before it's too late. Dreams don't chase themselves.   I also believe this song could be about a strong addiction, the bell could be like what I said above, every day is the same over and over again.   Just think if you were on hard drugs every day for years (like the band members of Pink Floyd), eventually all your days would fade into each other, and you would lose a sense of time. The line after that reads "to a life consumed by slow de...
